Poet-in-residence
Cecilia Knapp is our first ever poet-in-residence, celebrating our five iconic bridges, our deep history, our role as a major funder, and the work of the many organisations we support

In June 2024, Cecilia Knapp was selected to be City Bridge Foundation’s first ever poet-in-residence.
Hackney-based Cecilia was selected from an impressive field of over 170 applicants, with the help of our partner The Poetry Society – the leading voice for UK poetry..
Cecilia will hold the position, believed to unique among bridge owners, for one year. As well as writing new poetry, she will also perform her work at events and contribute to poetry-themed community and educational activities.
