Access to Justice Programme Opens Soon

Webinar bookings are now open for organisations working in social welfare advice, as we prepare to introduce our first round of funding under the Access to Justice programme.

  • Published: 21 October 2025

Access to Justice is the first of our programmes launching as part of City Bridge Foundation’s ten-year funding policy, Standing with Londoners 2025–2035. The first round of funding in this programme is aimed at led by and for’ organisations delivering free social welfare advice, engaging in social action work, and supporting systems change. More rounds will open next year.

On Monday 10 November 2025, full programme information – including eligibility guidance and application details – will be published on our website.

From now, organisations can book a place on our Access to Justice webinar, taking place live from 11.15am-12.00 noon on Tuesday 11 November 2025. The session will introduce the programme, outline our eligibility criteria, and guide potential applicants through the application process. During the session, attendees will be able to ask questions, and our team will respond either live or after the session. A recording will be made available on our website following the event.

Watching this webinar is essential for any organisation considering whether this programme is right for them before applying for funding.

About Access to Justice

This programme focuses on working collaboratively with London’s communities to ensure everyone can access their rights and find solutions to problems – whether through civil, legal, or other processes – without facing barriers such as cost, discrimination, or complexity.

In 2026, there will be a phased opening of our other three programmes – Climate & Environmental Justice, Economic Justice, and Racial Justice – as part of our wider commitment to tackling inequality and injustice. Further details will be released via our website in the coming months.

Our funding offer

Our aim for the Access to Justice programme is to help organisations working in social welfare advice respond to the changing advice needs of Londoners, strengthen organisational capacity, and contribute to wider systems change.

In this first round, we’re offering grants to led by and for organisations delivering frontline social welfare advice, engaging in social action work and supporting systems change, in the areas of housing, welfare benefits, debt, employment, and immigration.

We see social action as a pathway to systems change. Through social action, communities can influence policy, shift public narratives, and reshape institutional practices – leading to deeper, long-term transformation in how systems operate.

There is £6.5 million available in this round, and we’re offering core and flexible funding over three or five years.

Work that benefits Londoners

To be eligible, organisations providing free social welfare advice must deliver work that benefits Londoners, in one or more of the 32 London boroughs and/or the City of London. We are unable to fund work delivered outside of London or for the benefit of people living elsewhere.
