Supporting documents guidance
Guidance on the supporting documents you will need when submitting an online funding application.
The documents we’ll ask for
Alongside your online application, we also ask you to submit some supporting documents. You can do this easily using the online application form’s upload function.
If you are unable to attach your documents, please contact us for advice at funding@citybridgefoundation.org.uk or call 020 7332 3710.
You must submit all the required supporting documents – we cannot begin assessing your application until we have received all the necessary documents.
1) A copy of your organisation’s governing document or constitution
This is your organisation’s governing document. For example, depending on your legal status this may be a constitution, Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association or Trust Deed.
Please don’t forget to include both your Memorandum and Articles of Association (if relevant). Please note that this document is not required if you are part of the Church of England. If this is the case, please attach a note stating so.
2) A copy of your safeguarding policy
Please attach a copy of your organisation’s up-to-date safeguarding policy. This should reflect any relevant regulatory advice, for example, the Charity Commission here: Safeguarding for charities and trustees — GOV.UK and it may include:
- How your organisation provides a safe and trusted environment which safeguards anyone who comes into contact with it, including beneficiaries, staff and volunteers.
- What adequate safeguarding policies, procedures and measures are in place, and how are these used to protect people.
- Clarity on how incidents and allegations will be handled, should they arise, including reporting to the relevant authorities, such as the Commission.
- How trustees avoid exposing the charity’s assets, beneficiaries or reputation to undue risk.
- Recognition that safeguarding goes beyond preventing physical abuse, and includes protecting people from harm generally, including neglect, emotional abuse, exploitation, radicalisation, and the consequences of the misuse of personal data.
For more information on safeguarding, please see our Safeguarding for charities page.
3) A copy of your most recent signed audited or independently examined accounts
We need you to send us your most recently signed audited or independently examined accounts.
Please ensure that your accounts meet the requirement of the appropriate regulatory body. If you are a Registered Charity, see here for more information: Charity accounts, financial reporting and tax — GOV.UK.
4) A copy of your most recent management accounts
This should be the internal finance report, reviewed by your trustees or directors at their most recent meeting, including your organisation’s latest income and expenditure.
