In our second Committee of 2020, our Committee approved grants totalling just over £5m. This comprised 41 grants, large and small, supporting organisations that reach those in London in greatest need.

Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust

£200,000 over five years towards the salary and on costs of a Senior Welfare Rights and Benefits Worker in London.

Just for Kids Law

£100,000 over three years of core support for JFKL’s holistic casework in London, including rent and core expenditure.

Age UK Merton

£248,000 over five years towards the costs of a full-time advice worker, management costs and associated running costs.

Disability Law Service

£100,000 over five years towards core costs. This funding is for a maximum of one third of the organisation’s unfunded core costs, reflecting the proportion of its beneficiaries that are Londoners, which is c.30%.

£145,000 over three years towards a salary and associated costs of a project to support SCVOs in influencing decisions affecting Somalis in London.

Upswing Aerial Limited

£96,000 over three years for Homemade Circus workshops in residential care homes and to update an associated Toolkit.

Young Camden Foundation

£135,000 over three years as core funding to support the Young Camden Foundation’s work for voluntary sector organisations working with children and young people.

Castlehaven Community Association

£143,000 over three years towards the salary and associated running costs of the Greenworks Co-ordinator plus project running costs.

Children Ahead Ltd

£250,000 over five years towards the costs of psychotherapeutic and other mental health support to young people, both boys and girls.

Froglife Trust

£244,200 over five years for the salary of a Project Manager and running costs for the Leaping Forward for Dementia project.

Kentish Town Community Centre

£31,000 over two years towards the costs of a Support Worker, Project Manager and related resources for Kentish Town Community Centre’s weekly classes for older people.

Sported Foundation

£275,000 over three years toward the salaries of the Project Manager, Regional Manager, and Member Engagement Manager, plus evaluation and other running costs to launch the Connected Communities London model.

St Margaret’s House Settlement

A grant of £104,960 over three years towards the salary, running and project management costs of the arts programme for disabled adults.

Cripplegate Foundation

£95,000 over 2 further and final years towards staffing and operational costs of the Saturday Socials older persons programme delivered through Islington Giving.

Wac Arts

£100,000 towards the capital costs of improved access facilities to the Old Town Hall.

St Paul’s Church West Hackney

£105,000 over 3 years towards the Posh Club Co-Ordinator’s salary, Kitchen Manager’s salary and towards associated running costs to deliver TPC events per annum for older people.

Rushey Green Timebank (RGTB)

£323,500 over 5 years towards a Director of Lewisham Local plus associated running costs for the development and consolidation of Lewisham Local.

ETNA Community Centre

£5,000 for an access audit.

Rushey Green Timebank (RGTB)

£94,000 over 2 further and final years towards the salary of a Co-ordinator and freelance sessional staff and associated costs of maintaining and developing the community green space.

Docklands Sailing Centre Trust

£2,520 to meet the costs of an access audit along with the provision of 1‑day disability equality and awareness training for staff.

Inspire St James

£4,500 for an independent access audit and design appraisal.

Pleasance Theatres Trust Ltd

£2,500 towards the costs of an access audit and equalities training for Pleasance Theatres Trust’s Islington site.

Sound Minds

£63,000 over five years for core costs to underpin the successful running of the organisation through and beyond the recruitment and hand-over of a new CEO.

Havering Theatre Trust Limited

£100,000 towards capital access improvements to the public foyer, entrance, auditorium, backstage, and learning and participation areas.

Leaders in Community (LiC)

£2,000 to provide an eco-audit.

£44,000 over 2 further and final years for the salary of the Women’s Support Worker and for the costs of delivering ESOL Classes to Entry-level and level 1 standard.

Chaos Theory

£89,900 over two further and final years for a full time Senior Violence Interrupter and associated running costs.

School-Home Support

£108,500 over three years for the salary and associated costs of a School-Home Support Practitioner to support the positive transitions of young people with mental ill health in Alternative Provision.

Spinal Injuries Association

£248,200 over 5 years for a Project Support Officer and associated running costs to provide support, advice and advocacy for people experiencing spinal cord injury in London.

Jewish Women’s Aid
£248,700 over 5 years for a Domestic Abuse Worker and associated costs for its London service.
Aurora Foundation for People Abused in Childhood
£28,400 made up of £18,400 over one year towards therapists’ fees, clinical supervision, premises and management costs and £10,000 to develop a robust fundraising plan and develop better links with local statutory providers.
Chinese Mental Health Association

£260,900 over 5 years for a Co-ordinator, Support Worker, volunteer expenses and running costs for the Chinese Wellbeing Service.

Graeae Theatre Company

£260,400 towards the salary costs of the Training and Learning Co-ordinator and associated costs of the Rollettes, The Young Company and The Ensemble Intensive training programmes.

Generate Opportunities Ltd

£117,500 over three years towards the salaries of two Generate Voices Co-ordinators and associated project running costs.

Macular Disease Society

£85,000 over three years towards the salary and on-costs of a London Regional Manager, volunteer costs, direct management and related running costs.

Urban Partnership Group

£150,000 over three years for an ESOL tutor; Volunteer training; a contribution to creche facilities; exam registration and project management and administration costs.

Free2B Alliance

£93,760 over 5 years for the salary, travel, management and clinical supervision costs for the Free2Talk service for young Londonders.

Big Red Bus Club Charlton

£29,500 over three years towards the staffing and related running costs of pre-entry level group ESOL stay and play sessions for parents of under-fives.

Alliance for Inclusive Education

£109,700 over two further and final years towards an Inclusion Champion post, the Policy Co-ordinator and a proportion of the Director’s time and the Communications Officer, as well as the costs of developing the e‑hub, and training and capacity building costs.
