Spotlight Talks: An International Women’s Day Special
To celebrate International Women’s Day in March 2024 we would love to hear from organisations that support women and girls. This is an opportunity for a representative to share their expertise and experience with a wider audience
What we’re offering
At City Bridge Foundation, we believe in the power of amplifying voices to empower change. We will be hosting a number of virtual ‘Spotlight Talks’ to showcase the incredible knowledge and work of the charities we fund.
You are the experts in your field, so we want to invite a representative from one of our funded organisations to take the stage and share your expertise with a wider audience. You can talk about the work of your organisation, your individual experience or a relevant chosen topic.
Why participate?
- Visibility: Shine a spotlight on your impactful initiatives
- Networking: Connect with other organisations and build stronger networks
- Education: Share your knowledge to inspire and inform
What are we looking for?
We want content that will inform a broad audience and educate us about this particular topic. If you have creative ideas, insight into overlooked issues or powerful stories to share then we would love to hear from you.
We will only have one main speaker at each event, although others are very welcome to contribute to the discussion, questions and networking afterwards.
How will the session be structured?
Each ‘In the Spotlight’ session will last for approximately one hour. Your presentation should last for no more than 15 minutes and there will be an opportunity for discussion, questions and networking afterwards.
The date of this Spotlight Talk will be discussed with the chosen participant. We are aiming for March 2024 but this event does not have to be scheduled for International Women’s Day.
What kind of presentation should I do?
This is up to you. We will work with you to decide the information you would like to share and whether you would prefer to do your own presentation or whether you would prefer a more structured interview set up.
At City Bridge Foundation, we deliver all of our learning sessions in line with our RIVER principles:
- Relevant
- Interactive
- Varied
- Empowering
- Reviewed
Please ensure your presentation also follows these principles. For more guidance on how to do this, please see our learning update here or email natalie.heath@citybridgefoundation.org.uk.
Who will attend?
Invitations to our online Spotlight Talks will be shared with our staff and with the organisations currently funded by City Bridge Foundation. We are currently funding around 600 organisations.
We aim to share recorded sessions with a wider audience, after the event.
Will we be paid for our time?
Yes, we can pay your organisation’s standard consultancy rate for the time you spend preparing and delivering the session, up to the equivalent of one full day’s work.
How to get involved:
If you’re interested in taking part, or would like to know more, please send a brief email (no more than 300 words), with the subject line ‘Spotlight Talks’, to natalie.heath@citybridgefoundation.org.uk including:
- One sentence to summarise your presentation
- A sentence on why you think it would be beneficial for other funded organisations to hear
- A brief summary of your expertise and experience
Submission deadline: Friday, 26 January 2024
