Over £5.5m approved in latest grant round — 2020

In our first Committee of 2020, our Committee approved grants totalling £5.5m. This comprised 44 grants, large and small, supporting organisations that reach those in London in greatest need.

Disabled young Londoners interested in pursuing a career in inclusive design related work received support via a grant to Habinteg Housing Association Ltd for £332,00; older carers’ charity Grandparents Plus received £165,250 over three years for a Project Manager to adapt and establish their Compassionate Neighbours project to support older, frail, socially isolated people in Bromley.

A specialist service supporting Deaf women and their children escaping domestic abuse to re-build their lives independently received £260,000 towards a Children and Families Support Worker.

A wonderfully vital and innovative project called Wheels for Wellbeing received £288,400 over 5 years for fully accessible and inclusive cycling opportunities in South London.

£400,000 over 3 years to Trust for London to establish a joint fund for Phase 2 of the Strengthening Voices – Realising Rights initiative to support work tackling the root causes of poverty and disadvantage amongst Deaf and Disabled Londoners.

£20,000 towards Phase 1 of developing the fundraising and communication campaign for the Islington Together’ parthership between Islington Giving and Islington Council.
