FAQs about funding panels
Members of the funding team will attend on a rotating basis. Our aim is for each panel to consist of the Chief Funding Director, two Funding Directors, two Funding Managers and up to two Funding Officers.
All panel members are responsible for guarding against bias during the assessment process. All have received training and resources to maintain their practice, in support of their role on the panels. The panel Chair is responsible for ensuring that EDI has been fully considered during panel meetings.
Panel meeting decisions will be monitored to see if decisions relating to equities-led organisations indicate bias in the work of the panels. Any discovery of bias in the operation of panels will be acted upon as a matter of priority.
No, applicants do not attend panel meetings. Applicants will have already spent some time speaking to their City Bridge Foundation assessor, so we understand the work your organisation delivers, its current circumstances and future plans.
Panels then review all funding recommendations together, helping to determine how funding decisions enable City Bridge Foundation to achieve its aims.
The person who assesses your application will submit a written recommendation to the panel. The panel considers all written reports against funds available to reach a balanced decision
No, all assessors receive clear and consistent training. Peer review is built into City Bridge Foundation’s assessment process and provides all assessors with challenge and support in arriving at consistent recommendations.
Your assessor will have considered your application in light of City Bridge Foundation’s additional priorities, referencing publicly available information, and may have been in touch with you about it.
If you would like to speak to your assessor about the additional assessment priorities, please do get in touch with them directly.
