Working at City Bridge Foundation
City Bridge Foundation is made up of a diverse and talented team of staff, doing jobs which vary from being a Welcome Host at Tower Bridge to a Data Analyst in the Funding Team.
We share a passion for learning, a commitment to improving London for everyone, and a real pride in our work.
Altogether, our team consists of around 160 staff. Our work encompasses the management and maintenance of five of the capital’s bridges, including Tower Bridge, a wide range of funding programmes, led by our Funding Team, and a Social Investment Fund.
We also administer the City of London Corporation’s Philanthropy Strategy, Central Funding and Charity Management Team and Corporate Volunteering Programme. Many staff also support the work of City Bridge Foundation with roles in administration, communications, governance, finance and more.
When it comes to valuing our people, we have one key goal: to be an excellent employer with modern employee benefits and policies. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible learning and development opportunities. Benefits* include:
- Pension scheme
- Work-life balance
- Access to local health clubs
- Cycle to work scheme
- Flexible working
- Generous annual leave
- Two paid days to volunteer
- Training and development opportunities
- Maternity/paternity paid leave
- Discounts / free tickets to arts, cultural sites, healthcare services and much more.
*Some benefits may differ depending on the contract.
Flexible working means any working pattern that is different from your current one. We want to support colleagues to work flexibly wherever we can, and support colleagues to have the right work-life balance.
Depending on the nature of your work, we encourage hybrid working which allows colleagues to mix home working with office work. From September 2024, employees are required to be in the office three days per week, if working on a full time basis, unless agreed otherwise.
Our offices are split between the historic Guildhall, in the heart of the City, and Tower Bridge.
At City Bridge Foundation we encourage everyone to come to work as they are. We are committed to continuing to make improvements to make everyone feel safe and happy at work.
In addition, we are committed to supporting and encouraging our staff to participate in the City Corporation’s Staff Diversity Networks, that enable colleagues to meet, discuss and share issues in a safe and confidential environment.
The current networks are:
- City Pride LGBTQ+ Network
- Multi-Faith Network
- Disability, Ability and Wellbeing Network
- Women’s inclusive Network
- Carers’ and Parents’ Network
- Clear (City of London Ethnicity and Race) Network
- Young Employees Network
We are a Living Wage Employer
In 2001 the living wage was founded by a campaign group, Citizens UK, to ensure the basic rights of people living and working in the UK. This policy guarantees that the workers get paid enough to cover their shelter, food and water.
In 2011 the Living Wage Foundation was set up to recognise responsible employers who pay a real living wage, by awarding them the ‘Living Wage Employer’ mark.
